If this turns out to be a done deal, we can definitely get behind this casting choice. The Hollywood Reporter says Modern Family standout Ty Burrell is going to take the lead role opposite the Muppets in Disney's upcoming Muppets sequel.
There's no official word yet from the Mouse House, however it appears Burrell will take on the role of an Interpol inspector that Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained) was in talks to play. The Muppets director James Bobin will be back at the helm, with writer Nicholas Stoller also back for further Muppet adventures.
Filming's expected to take place this winter.
In addition to Modern Family, Burrell's been keeping busy filming The Skeleton Twins with Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader and providing the voice of Mr. Peabody in Mr. Peabody & Sherman.
