Dane DeHaan has landed the much sought-after role of Harry Osborn in the second film of The Amazing Spider-Man trilogy. DeHaan joins a cast which includes Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane, and Jamie Foxx as Electro.
The Amazing Spider-Man helmer Marc Webb returns to direct. Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner wrote the screenplay (based on a draft by James Vanderbilt).
Director Webb broke the news via a tweet: "Meet Harry Osborn. So excited to have him on board. @danedehaan." Webb added, "Dane is an exciting and extraordinary young actor and he is a fantastic addition to our cast."
The next Spider-Man film will hit theaters on May 2, 2014.
DeHaan's film credits include Lincoln, Lawless, Jack & Diane, and Chronicle [pictured here]. He'll be seen in 2013 in Place Beyond the Pines with Bradley Cooper and Ryan Gosling, Devil's Knot with Colin Firth, and Kill Your Darlings alongside Daniel Radcliffe.
