Two young actors who are best known for playing the sons of sheriffs have been tapped to star in the horror/thriller, Mercy. The Hollywood Reporter says The Walking Dead's Chandler Riggs and Super 8's Joel Courtney will take on lead roles in the big screen adaptation of Stephen King's short story, "Gramma," from Skeleton Crew.
The project's set up at Universal Pictures and has Peter Cornwell (The Haunting in Connecticut) attached to direct. Matt Greenberg adapted King's story (Greenberg previously adapted King's 1408 back in 2007). The story follows two boys who tag along with their mom (to be played by Frances O'Connor) to their grandmother's house - a grandmother who turns out to be a witch.
