Yes, there's another Paranormal Activity heading to theaters. And yes, it'll be a Halloween 2013 release. Paramount's confirmed an October 25, 2013 release date for Paranormal Activity 5.
The found footage series continues to prove profitable at the box office, although Paranormal Activity 4 didn't live up to the opening weekend takes of the other sequels. PA #4 opened at $30 million, considerably less than Paranormal Activity 3's $52 million or Paranormal Activity 2's $40 million. However, the films cost so little to make and distribute that going forward with Paranormal Activity 5 was pretty much a no-brainer for the studio.
Details on the plot, the cast, and who will direct have not been released.
