Skyfall started off its domestic release on a high note, claiming the #1 opening Friday for a film of the iconic franchise with a $30.8 million box office take. And after a huge opening day, Skyfall didn't show any signs of slowing down on its way to an $87.8 opening weekend.
So, how does Skyfall compare to Daniel Craig's other Bond films? Craig took over the franchise from Pierce Brosnan with 2006's Casino Royale, posting an opening weekend of $40 million domestically. Craig followed that up with Quantum of Solace, a Bond film not many people will claim is their favorite, in 2008. Quantum of Solace was released on November 14, 2008 and made $67.5 million over its first three days in release, making it the biggest Bond opening weekend domestically to that point.
Craig will be sticking around to play Bond, James Bond in at least two more films.
