Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks (who, by the way, has one of the best celebrity websites), Will Arnett and Morgan Freeman have some new Lego co-stars as Warner Bros confirmed the addition of Will Ferrell, Liam Neeson, Nick Offerman and Alison Brie in voice roles for the 3-D animated adventure based on the popular toys.
WB and Village Roadshow Pictures are aiming for a February 7, 2014 release of the first Lego movie in the history of the toy line. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (21 Jump Street, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) wrote the screenplay and are directing.
The official synopsis: "The Lego movie follows Emmet (Chris Pratt), an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average Lego minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously under-prepared."
And the official character descriptions:
Will Ferrell - Emmet's primary adversary, President Business, an erudite, anal-retentive CEO who has a hard time balancing world domination with micro-managing his own life;
Liam Neeson - The voice of the president's powerful henchman, known as Bad Cop, who will stop at nothing to catch Emmet; and Nick Offerman - a craggy, swaggering pirate obsessed with revenge on President Business and Brie plays a sweet, lovable member of Emmet's team with a powerful secret.(Photo © Richard Chavez)
