He's either playing with fans or Jamie Foxx has let the cat out of the bag and will in fact be joining the Spider-Man franchise. As the rumor of Foxx's involvement in the upcoming Spider-Man film built up steam, Foxx added fuel to the fire by tweeting:
"Dressed up as Electro for Halloween last night. Costume fits well. "
Multiple outlets had been reporting Foxx was in talks to join the cast as Electro, presumably the main villain in the next Spider-Man film. If so, Foxx would be joining returning The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone as well as returning director Marc Webb for the action adventure film set for a May 2, 2014 release. Also looking to join the cast is The Descendants break-out star Shailene Woodley who would be playing Mary Jane if her deal goes through.
Filming is expected to get underway early in 2013.
Foxx will next be seen on the big screen in Quentin Tarantino's Western, Django Unchained, heading to theaters on Christmas Day. He recently wrapped up work on Roland Emmerich's White House Down alongside Channing Tatum and Maggie Gyllenhaal.
