The Mortal Instruments Cast

Fans of Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments series can stop the debate - or at least put it on hold until the film comes out - over whether Jamie Campbell Bower was the right actor to play Jace Wayland. Filming is underway and the cast is in place, and to make it even more official, Columbia TriStar has released a photo of the cast posing together. Pictured in the above photo are:

- (Left to right) Robert Sheehan ('Simon'), Jamie Campbell Bower ('Jace Wayland'), Lily Collins ('Clary Fray'), Kevin Zegers ('Alec Lightwood') and Jemima West ('Isabelle Lightwood').

Set for release on August 23, 2013, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones is being directed by Harald Zwart (the 2010 The Karate Kid).

For those not into Clare's books (or who need a refresher), here's the synopsis of City of Bones: "In City of Bones, set in contemporary New York City, a seemingly ordinary teenager Clary Fray, discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of warriors dedicated to driving demons out of our world. When Clary's mother disappears, she must join a daring group of young Shadowhunters on an adventure, which leads her through a city filled with mischievous fairies, eccentric warlocks, werewolf gangs and other strange creatures."

I am really sad at who they casted. Even in the pictures it seems all wrong. I would have casted Molly Quinn as lead actress. She is much better actress than Lilly Collins. I have nothing against who they casted for Chance. The problem is that he is not hot enjoy to be Chance. I will most likely go the the movie, but I would have gone a totally different direction. I wanted to cry when I read casting.

Everyone has a right to their own opinion. When I heard who they casted for Jace I wanted to cry. Nothing against the actor, but he is so not hot enough to play Jace. Even if you look at these stills is just screams WRONG CASTING. I don’t care if you are the best actor in the word, but if you don’t look the part than it will be part to really believe that you are Jace. Jace will remain on paperback and so many of us will wonder what might have been…
