The Hunger GamesThe Hunger Games fans knew it was going to happen soon, but it never seems real until the official announcement's been made. And Lionsgate Films just confirmed the start of production on the second film of The Hunger Games series, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Just as a refresher - Suzanne Collins' book series is a trilogy, but there will be four films (Mockingjay will be split in two).

Shooting's taking place in/around Atlanta, Georgia and in Hawaii.

"We are so excited to be embarking on this adventure with Francis Lawrence, who has already exhibited immense creative vision and resourcefulness in casting the film and planning its look and feel," stated Lionsgate's President of Production Eric Feig in the official start-of-production announcement. "The stakes are raised in every way in this second story, and we are thrilled to get the production underway in these perfect locations, with our excellent returning cast and some world class actors in new roles."

Lionsgate also announced details on a contest just for Hunger Games fans. "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire - Win a Trip to Set" contest runs now through October 12 and will award 12 super lucky fans a chance to visit the film's set. There, they'll be able to talk to the cast and crew - and make millions of less fortunate fans jealous in the process.

Enter by uploading a 30 second video of the best question of the best question you can come up with for the film's cast. Hint: I suggest you don't ask either "What attracted you to The Hunger Games?" or "What do you like best about playing your character?" Those are too easy and too obvious. You can also enter by playing The Hunger Games Adventures on Facebook. Full details (and restrictions) are available at www.catchingfiresweeps.com. And may the odds be ever in your favor.

Catching Fire will light up theaters on November 22, 2013.

The official synopsis: "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire begins as Katniss Everdeen (played by Jennifer Lawrence) has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a 'Victor's Tour' of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow (Donald Sutherland) prepares the 75(th) Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) - a competition that could change Panem forever."
