Hollywood studios ignored this weekend as did moviegoers who said no to new releases The Words and Cold Light of Day (which finished in 12th place). Did anyone even know Cold Light was released? I completely forgot about that film. Both new movies bombed, paving the way for returning champ The Possession to maintain its hold on the first place position.
According to BoxOfficeMojo, the September 7-9, 2012 weekend posted the worst box office numbers since the same weekend in 2008. Wow.
