Robert Downey Jr Slightly Injured on Iron Man 3 Set

Production has come to halt on Iron Man 3 after Robert Downey Jr sustained a minor injury while shooting a scene. Downey Jr hurt his ankle while filming in North Carolina, and Marvel officially announced the slight delay in production due to his injury.

"Robert Downey Jr. sustained an ankle injury on the set of Iron Man 3 in Wilmington, North Carolina while performing a stunt," stated Marvel. "There will be a short delay in the production schedule while he recuperates."

There's no immediate word on when production will gear up again. Marvel and Walt Disney Pictures have set a May 3, 2013 release date for the third film of the franchise.

In addition to Downey Jr, the Iron Man 3 cast includes Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Kingsley, James Badge Dale, and Jon Favreau.
