The action comedy Malavita has just begun shooting in Normandy, with additional shooting scheduled for New York and France at La Cité du Cinéma. Luc Besson adapted Tonino Benacquista's Badfellas and will be directing the project set up at EuropaCorp and Relativity Media.
Malavita, starring Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Tommy Lee Jones, John D'Leo, and Glee's Dianna Agron, will be hitting theaters in 2013.
The official synopsis: "The darkly comedic action film Malavita is the story of the Manzonis, a notorious mafia family who gets relocated to Normandy, France under the witness protection program. While they do their best to fit in, old habits die hard and they soon find themselves handling things the 'family' way."
