Jennifer Lawrence, best known for playing Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games, could be signing on to star in the dramatic film The Ends of the Earth, based on real events. The Weinstein Company just announced they've come on board to finance and distribute the film following the acquisition of worldwide rights from Escape Artists. And in announcing their involvement, The Weinstein Company also confirmed Lawrence's interest in The Ends of the Earth.
Announcing the deal, Harvey Weinstein said, "I'm not sure that anything resonates more with an audience than a true story. Jennifer Lawrence shows the skill of a seasoned veteran in everything she does, and we're thrilled to work with her again."
Lawrence is definitely not resting in between The Hunger Games films, with House at the End of the Street, Silver Linings Playbook, and Serena all completed and The X-Men sequel preparing to shoot soon. If she signs up for The Ends of the Earth, it'll likely be shot after she finishes up both X-Men and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
The official synopsis: "In The Ends of the Earth, powerful oil tycoon Ernest Marland loses everything after engaging in a controversial love affair with his adopted daughter Lydie."
