Christopher Eccleston has won the role of Malekith the Accursed in Marvel Studios' Thor sequel, Thor: The Dark World, according to Deadline. Eccleston, whose credits include G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra and Doctor Who, joins a cast led by Chris Hemsworth and featuring Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Jaimie Alexander, Idris Elba, Ray Stevenson, Idris Elba, Stellan Skarsgard, and Zachary Levi in place of Josh Dallas.
