Are you ready for a The Great Gatsby film in 3D? Warner Bros and writer/director Baz Luhrmann are gambling on audiences being willing to watch a period drama in that format, despite the fact straight dramatic movies (without action, much CG, or animation) just aren't released in 3D. I actually saw the trailer in 3D at the 2012 CinemaCon and although I'm not a big fan of 3D, period, and dislike the glasses and the muted colors caused by wearing them, The Great Gatsby actually looked impressive in 3D.
