Dimension's set an October 4, 2013 release date for the sequel to Sin City, Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, which means that the sequel's absolutely, officially moving forward. Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller will co-direct again; Rodriguez, Miller and William Monahan co-wrote the script. Rodriguez will shoot A Dame to Kill For at Troublemaker Studios this summer.
Of the original Sin City cast, at this point only Jessica Alba and Mickey Rourke are confirmed to return. However, Dimension's press release says that casting is currently taking place with "original cast members returning to work,' which makes it seem likely we'll see other Sin City players returning. Dimension also added that casting is underway for new key characters in the sequel and that we should be hearing additional casting announcements in the near future.
The script is being kept a secret - for now. And while Rodriguez and Miller intend to return to the visual imagery of Sin City, this time around they're adding in 3D.
