Paul Walker's been very busy. The Fast and the Furious star has just signed a two-year first-look production deal with Universal Pictures, with Skyscraper named as his first film under the new Universal deal. Walker will star in and executive produce the action thriller based on a story idea by Mike Sobel.
In other Walker news, 3D Entertainment Distribution says Paul's set to narrate the IMAX 3D film Air Racers 3D. The film spotlights the Reno National Championship Air Races and was shot entirely in 3D, with the filmmakers given unprecedented access to the race course.
"We are truly honored and delighted to have Paul Walker lend his storytelling talents to this action-packed 3D film, which will hit IMAX theatres in the US beginning this April," stated Francois Mantello, Chairman and CEO of 3D Entertainment Distribution, in the official announcement. "His passion for racing and high-adrenaline sports makes him a perfect fit for this celebration of aviation."
Walker explained why he wanted to be a part of Air Racers 3D: "I have always been fascinated by the sheer power, precision and skills of these tremendously talented pilots who race just 50 feet off the ground at twice the speed of a Nascar race. I was further drawn to the film by its unique historical view of this legendary sport and for the educational insight into the science of flying that it provides."
Walker's also got Fast & Furious 6 heading into production this spring, and he's going to star in the thriller Hours set in New Orleans. He recently wrapped up work on Vehicle 19 for writer/director Mukunda Michael Dewil.
