The 39th Annual Annie Awards honoring animated films took place on February 4th and Gore Verbinski's tale of a chameleon with identity issues turned out to be the big winner. Rango took home the Best Animated Feature, Character Design in a Feature Production, Writing in a Feature Production, and Editing awards. Meanwhile, the Art Directors Guild also held their awards ceremony this weekend in Beverly Hills, revealing the best of 2011 with their annual Production Design Awards. Rowling, screenwriters Steve Kloves and Michael Goldenberg, production designer Stuart Craig, art director Neil Lamont, and set decorator Stephenie McMillan were the recipients of the Outstanding Contribution to Cinematic Imagery award.
