Amanda Seyfried and Peter Sarsgaard have some company in Lovelace, the biopic of porn star turned activist Linda Lovelace. Millennium Films revealed Hank Azaria will play Deep Throat director Jerry Damiano, Bobby Cannavale and Chris Noth are set to play Deep Throat financiers Butchie Peraino and Anthony Romano, and Robert Patrick will play Linda's father in the dramatic film which begins filming today in LA.
Linda Lovelace (born Linda Loreman) is considered the first genuine female superstar of the adult film industry. Her story is being brought to the big screen with the full cooperation of her estate, which must mean they're fine with Seyfried taking on the lead role and Sarsgaard playing her husband, Chuck Traynor. Additional cast members include Sharon Stone, Wes Bentley, and Juno Temple.
Andy Bellin (Trust) wrote the screenplay with Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman (HOWL) directing.
Lovelace isn't the only Linda Lovelace project in the works. Malin Akerman subbed in for troubled celeb Lindsay Lohan in the rival project, Inferno, from writer/director Matthew Wilder.
