Reporting on films would be easier if every project were to announce its actual permanent, official, won't be changing at the last minute title the day that filming begins. However, that's not the way life/Hollywood works, and so in this case we only have the option of reporting that the Untitled Oren Peli Project has begun shooting. FilmNation reports filming is now underway in Eastern Europe on the production based on an original story by Paranormal Activity's Oren Peli.
First-time feature film director Brad Parker is at the helm with Brian Witten (Dark City) and Peli producing.
The synopsis: "The film centers on a group of friends who become stranded in an eerie and desolate city. Abandoned years before in the aftermath of a nuclear disaster, nature has begun to reclaim everything. As the sun sets on this radioactive ghost town, inhuman cries cut through the night air. It seems they are not alone."
The still untitled film's cast includes Jonathan Sadowski, Devin Kelley, Jesse McCartney, Olivia Taylor Dudley, Nathan Phillips, Ingrid Bolso Berdal and Dimitri Diatchenko.
In the press release announcing the start of production, Peli stated, "I love my job. I get to work with a talented director like Brad on the kind of scary movie I know I'd happily stand in line to see."
"I really couldn't be happier with our cast. We've brought together a group of fresh, talented young actors and they're all getting ready to give us nightmares! In the best possible way!," added producer Witten.
