This past weekend The Smurfs knocked Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 - the most successful film of 2011 - out of the top spot on the international box office chart. And in honor of The Smurf's unexpected popularity, contributing writer David Nusair has put together lists of the top 5 best and worst films that mix live-action and animation.
Says Nusair: "There's been a tradition over the years for movies to blend live action with animation, and though the technique has become more and more prominent with the computer-animation revolution, the best examples of this usually involve good old-fashioned traditional animation."
