The survival thriller The Grey will debut in theaters on January 27, 2012 says Open Road Films. Produced and directed by Joe Carnahan (The A-Team, Smokin' Aces), The Grey is an action-heavy drama which reunites Carnaham with his A-Team star, Liam Neeson.
In addition to Neeson, The Grey features Frank Grillo, Dermot Mulroney, Dallas Roberts, Joe Anderson, James Badge Dale, and Nonso Anozie. Jules Daly, Ridley Scott and Mickey Liddell produced the film, with Tony Scott, Jennifer Hilton, Jim Seibel, Bill Johnson and Marc Butan executive producing.
Open Road acquired the action-heavy drama in July and at that time Tom Ortenberg, CEO of Open Road Films, stated, "Joe Carnahan has done a phenomenal job of bringing this riveting story of the human condition to life. Liam Neeson's performance is brilliant and I am thrilled to be working with Joe - and to be back in business with Mickey Liddell - on the release of the film."The official synopsis: "In The Grey, Liam Neeson leads an unruly group of oil-rig roughnecks when their plane crashes into the remote Alaskan wilderness. Battling mortal injuries and merciless weather, the survivors have only a few days to escape the icy elements - and a vicious pack of rogue wolves on the hunt - before their time runs out."
