Hot on the heels of the news that Jennifer Lopez will star in What to Expect When You're Expecting comes word from Lionsgate that Anna Kendrick ('Jessica' in The Twilight Saga) and Brooklyn Decker have joined the cast. Nanny McPhee director Kirk Jones is helming the romantic comedy based on the bestselling book by Heidi Murkoff. Shauna Cross (Whip It) penned the latest version of the script.
What to Expect is "a modern look at love through the eyes of four interconnected couples experiencing the thrills and surprises of having a baby, and ultimately coming to understand the universal truth that no matter what you plan for, life doesn't always deliver what's expected." [Lionsgate] Kendrick is set to play Rosie, a character who gets back together with her ex following "a turf war between their respective food trucks, and they embark on a funny, poignant journey together in the wake of a surprise pregnancy."
Decker, best known for sporting a yellow bikini in Just Go With It, will be playing Skyler, a "perennially perky character, who is married to a much older man, sails through her pregnancy with twins much to the consternation of her peers."
Filming's expected to begin later this summer. Lionsgate's delivering the film in theaters on May 11, 2012.
