Relativity Media's still untitled Snow White film (really, it's time to give the thing a name and be done with it) will start shooting on June 20th. The studio had to speed things up after they outmanuevered Universal by moving their Snow White film ahead of Universal's Snow White and the Huntsman, after Huntsman had moved up to June 2012 from December 2012 to beat Relativity's fairy tale film. Are you following that? Relativity was going to be first out of the gate, then Universal took the lead, which meant Relativity had to find a date they felt Universal couldn't possible open before. So as it stands, Relativity's Snow White will hit theaters on March 16, 2012 and Universal's Snow White and the Huntsman will enter theaters on June 1st.
Relativity's Snow White has Tarsem Singh in the director's chair and a script by Melisa Wallack and Jason Keller. Filming will take place in Montreal, Canada.
Lily Collins will play Snow White, Julia Roberts is an evil queen, Armie Hammer is Prince Andrew Alcott, Nathan Lane is the Queen's servant, Mare Winningham is Baker Margaret, and Michael Lerner is Baron. The seven dwarfs will be played by Mark Povinelli, Jordan Prentice, Danny Woodburn, Sebastian Saraceno, Ronald Lee Clark, Martin Klebba, and Joey Gnoffo.
The comedy action-adventure finds the evil Queen stealing control of the kingdom while "an exiled princess enlists the help of seven resourceful rebels to win back her birthright."
