Reese WitherspoonOscar-winner Reese Witherspoon will star in and produce the comedy Who Invited Her? for DreamWorks Pictures. Sascha Rothchild is working on the script; no director is currently attached to the project.

The story follows a woman (Witherspoon) who tags along on a bachelor party weekend.

35 year old Witherspoon's been real hit or miss at the box office lately, with the $38 million Water for Elephants (opposite Robert Pattinson) easily making back its budget while the $120 million romcom How Do You Know tanked. She'll next be seen in the action comedy This Means War with Chris Pine and Tom Hardy.

In other Witherspoon news, the actress accepted the MTV Generation Award this past weekend at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards from her Water for Elephants co-star Pattinson, her Sweet Home Alabama co-star Patrick Dempsey, and Chelsea Handler (who's also in This Means War). After an R-rated exchange involving mothers and sex with Pattinson, Witherspoon smacked down celebs who become famous from reality shows and sex tapes.

"I know it's cool to be bad, I get it. But it's also possible to make it in Hollywood without a reality show," said Witherspoon. "When I came up in this business, you made a sex tape, you were embarrassed and you hid it under your bed and, like, if you took naked pictures of yourself on your cell phone, you hid your face, people! Hide your face." And while Witherspoon says that last comment wasn't aimed at Blake Lively, her speech was delivered just a few days after the Green Lantern star got caught up in a naked photo scandal.
