The "pre-apocalyptic" comedy Seeking a Friend for the End of the World has begun shooting this week, with writer Lorene Scafaria making her feature film directorial debut with the Focus Features film. Seeking a Friend is set in the "too-near future" and examines what happens when people learn the end of the world is coming (thus the film's title).
Steve Carell, whose last episode playing Michael Scott on The Office recently aired, stars as a man who finds the greatest love of his life (Keira Knightley) as the world spins toward its end.
Joining Carell and Knightley are Connie Britton, Adam Brody, Roger Aaron Brown, Tonita Castro, Rob Corddry, Melinda Dillon, Rob Huebel, Gillian Jacobs, Derek Luke, Melanie Lynskey, T.J. Miller, Mark Moses, Patton Oswalt, William Petersen, Lindsay Sloane, and Bob Stephenson.
