Linkin Park and Michael Bay are collaborating once again, with the band's "Iridescent" single to be featured as the end title song in Paramount Pictures' Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The group's "What I've Done" was featured in the first Transformers movie and "New Divide" was included in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. According to Warner Bros Records, "New Divide" spent 14 weeks at #1 on the rock radio charts after being included in the second Transformers film.
"Iridescent" is off the band's current album, A Thousand Suns.
Bay was eager to work with the group again, stating, "The first two songs were huge hits and I have no doubt that this new song will be equally as successful." Transformers composer Steve Jablonsky added, "Michael and I respond to Linkin Park because they have a cinematic sensibility to their music that translates to the big screen."
Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda believes "Iridescent" fits the tone of the third Transformers movie, a film Shinoda says Bay describes as a rescue mission that's more serious than the first two Transformers. "'Iridescent' has always been a fan-favorite when we play the songs from A Thousand Suns live on stage, so we're thrilled that Michael decided to feature it in his third Transformers movie," said Shinoda.
