Eva Longoria, Billy Bob Thornton Star in The Baytown Disco

Oscar winner Billy Bob Thornton (Sling Blade) and Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria just signed up to star in The Baytown Disco, a Southern comedy co-written and directed by Barry Battles. Griffin Hood co-wrote the script which made the 2009 Black List of the best unproduced screenplays.

Thornton and Longoria join a cast which includes Thomas Sangster (Love Actually), Meagan Good (The Unborn), Serinda Swan (Tron: Legacy), and Clayne Crawford (A Love Song for Bobby Long). According to the official press release announcing the new cast members, The Baytown Disco "follows the foibles of three redneck brothers who get more than they bargained for after agreeing to help a woman get her son back from his seemingly-abusive father." A synopsis which, truthfully, doesn't sound like the description of a 'Southern comedy'.

LLeju Productions is producing and financing The Baytown Disco. Filming is scheduled to begin in Louisiana on May 2nd.
