Director David Slade (Hard Candy, 30 Days of Night, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) used his Twitter account to clear up a few Daredevil questions, but didn't give away any big secrets. After news hit the internet that he'd be tackling a new Daredevil film, Slade said he checked out the web and found a "litany of false (and not so far off) rumours."
"So without breaking confidentiality, yes Daredevil, we have a great outline for a very strong character driven take on Mr Matt Murdock" - tweets Slade on March 19th, followed by: "It will bare no relation to the previous Daredevil movie in any way. We are at early planning stages and have not yet discussed any cast." (Daredevil casting rumors have included Twilight's Robert Pattinson or Tron: Legacy's Garrett Hedlund in the title role.)
As for those rumors he'd be involved in a some way with the Deadpool movie, Slade said, "Love DEADPOOL, was never engaged in the (quite fantastic) script, last I heard studio was looking at comedy directors. None of my business."
Slade, definitely on a cleaning-up-rumors tear, also tweeted that he's still interested in doing The Last Voyage of the Demeter with Noomi Rapace and Ben Kingsley, and he has nothing to do with Wolverine. "WOLVERINE, there have been no discussions about this project to date," stated Slade. "Interesting to see what will happen with that as the again excellent script by Chris McQuarrie was set largely in Japan."
