Mandalay Pictures is moving forward on the big screen adaptation of Joe Hill's Horns after picking up the film rights back in 2009, with Variety reporting Shia LaBeouf has been tapped to star. Hill's book is being adapted by Keith Bunin (In Treatment).
"At first Ig thought the horns were a hallucination, the product of a mind damaged by rage and grief. He had spent the last year in a lonely, private purgatory, following the death of his beloved, Merrin Williams, who was raped and murdered under inexplicable circumstances. A mental breakdown would have been the most natural thing in the world. But there was nothing natural about the horns, which were all too real." - Joe Hill's official website
Hill (Stephen King's son) will be actively involved in the film version of his book as an executive producer.
LaBeouf will next be seen in the third Transformers movie, Transformers: Dark of the Moon. He's also busy working on The Wettest County in the World with Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman and Mia Wasikowska.
