The more casting news we hear coming out of the Dark Shadows camp, the more interesting this film's becoming. The Hollywood Reporter says Michelle Pfeiffer could be the next actor to sign on to the project as she's in the 'in negotiations' stage now. If Pfeiffer does sign up, THR reports she'll be playing the reclusive Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, a character who never leaves her mansion.
The big screen adaptation of the '60s TV series has Johnny Depp set to star as the brooding vampire Barnabas Collins. Also ready for the gothic drama are Oscar nominee Jackie Earle Haley (Little Children), Aussie newcomer Bella Heathcote, and Bond Girl Eva Green.
Dark Shadows, set up at Warner Bros, is gearing up for an April start of filming.
Pfeiffer previously worked with Dark Shadows director Tim Burton on Batman Returns, the 1992 film in which she wrapped her body in tight black leather to play Catwoman.
