Emma Watson (Harry Potter) and Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson) are getting ready to start work on The Perks of Being a Wallflower, adapted by the book's author, Stephen Chbosky. Chbosky will also direct the film, with production expected to being this summer.Summit Entertainment (best known as the studio behind the Twilight films) has acquired the film rights.
From the book publisher's site: "This is the story of what it's like to grow up in high school. More intimate than a diary, Charlie's letters are singular and unique, hilarious and devastating. We may not know where he lives. We may not know to whom he is writing. All we know is the world he shares. Caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it puts him on a strange course through uncharted territory. The world of first dates and mixed tapes, family dramas and new friends. The world of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, when all one requires is that perfect song on that perfect drive to feel infinite."
In addition to the final Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, Watson's also got My Week with Marilyn heading to theaters this year. Logan was most recently seen as Percy Jackson in Percy Jackson and the Olympians and has The Three Musketeers coming out on October 14th.

I’m not so sure about Summit adapting the film. They’re not known for producing quality films.
However, I am quite happy with the casting news. Emma Watson and Logan Lerman are Excellent for the roles of Sam and Charlie. I can’t wait to see the finished product!
