Variety reports Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis' untitled political comedy has been snatched up by Warner Bros Pictures. Jay Roach (Dinner for Schmucks, Meet the Fockers) is set to direct the film and will also produce alongside Ferrell's Gary Sanchez Productions and Galifianakis.Chris Henchy (The Other Guys) and Shawn Harwell (Eastbound and Down) are working on the script which will find Ferrell and Galifianakis playing rival political candidates. No other details have been released and there's no word on when Roach hopes to get the film into production.
Ferrell was most recently seen in The Other Guys opposite Mark Wahlberg and heard in Megamind. Galifianakis starred in Due Date, currently in theaters, and is working on The Hangover Part 2.
