I have to admit I'm really looking forward to a new Muppet movie and squealed when I opened my email and saw the first photo from The Muppets (aka The Greatest Muppet Movie Ever Made). My sister and I still quote lines from previous Muppets films (if "Bear left" ever comes up in a conversation it's always followed by "Frog right"...Muppet geeks will get that) and can't wait to see what Disney does with this new film featuring all the familiar Muppets as well as a brand new character named Walter (pictured holding up an iPhone).According to the November 12, 2010 edition of Entertainment Weekly, Walter's a "sweet, slightly naive 20-something Everypuppet." He's also Jason Segel's character's roommate and together they must reunite all the Muppets - Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie Bear, The Swedish Chef, Sam the Eagle, etc. - in order to save The Muppet Theater.
Joining Segel in The Muppets cast are Amy Adams, Rashida Jones, and Chris Cooper. James Bobin (The Flight of the Conchords) will be directing the film from a script by Segel and Nicholas Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek). The Muppets is scheduled to be released on December 25, 2011.
