New Line Cinema announced filming is now underway in Vancouver, Canada on the fifth - but likely not the final - film of the Final Destination franchise. Steve Quale's making his feature film directorial debut with the 3-D project (the second Final Destination film to utilize the format). A Nightmare on Elm Street writer Eric Heisserer wrote the screenplay with Gary Dauberman finessing the script.

We broke the news that Arlen Escarpeta from the studio's recent Friday the 13th remake will be part of the cast of this new Final Destination. And New Line just revealed additional potential victims of Death include Emma Bell (The Walking Dead), Nick D'Agosto (Fired Up!), Miles Fisher (Gossip Girl), Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Bold and the Beautiful), PJ Byrne (Dinner for Schmucks), Courtney B Vance (ER), David Koechner (Anchorman), Ellen Wroe (Huge), and Tony Todd (Hatchet II).

The Official Final Destination 5 - 3D Synopsis
"In this fifth installment, Death is just as omnipresent as ever, and is unleashed after one man's premonition saves a group of coworkers from a terrifying suspension bridge collapse. But this group of unsuspecting souls was never supposed to survive, and, in a terrifying race against time, the ill-fated group frantically tries to discover a way to escape Death's sinister agenda."
