According to Comic Book Movie, True Blood's Stephen Moyer has been offered the role of Dr Doom (previously played by Julian McMahon) in the reboot of the Fantastic Four film franchise. CBM says an inside source at 20th Century Fox said they have an offer out to Moyer, but absolutely nothing's confirmed at this point.When MTV caught up with Moyer at the Emmy Awards this past weekend, the recently married Brit was totally non-committal about the project. Moyer told MTV, "Isn't that great? Isn't that fantastic? I know nothing about it." So, who knows? The "I know nothing about it" line is often used when actors haven't officially signed on but are in the process of making a deal.
Other names being tossed around as possibilities for the cast include Adrien Brody and Jonathan Rhys Meyers for Reed Richards, Alice Eve as Sue Storm, Kevin Pennington as Johnny Storm, and Bruce Willis as the voice of a pure CGI The Thing.
CBM is also reporting Fox has narrowed down the director search to three choices: Joe Carnahan (The A-Team), David Yates (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, The Half-Blood Prince, The Deathly Hallows Part 1 and Part 2, and James McTeigue (V for Vendetta).
