Signing on to play newbie vampire Jessica on True Blood turned out to be an extremely good career move for Deborah Ann Woll. Since making her debut on True Blood at the end of season one, Woll's become quite the popular young actress, booking roles in Mother's Day, Highland Park, Catch .44, Seven Days in Utopia, and Little Murder. And according to The Hollywood Reporter, Woll's just added Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You to her list of projects.Woll will be joining Ellen Burstyn, Marcia Gay Harden, Lucy Liu and Stephen Lang in the dramatic coming-of-age film to be directed by Roberto Faenza.
Based on the novel by Peter Cameron (who also worked on the screenplay), Someday This Pain is the story of James Sveck (to be played by Toby Regbo), an intelligent, sensitive 18 year old from a dysfunctional family who'd rather buy real estate in a small town than do what everyone expects of him (i.e. go to Brown University).
Filming's expected to start later this month in New York.
