Helen Mirren Talks Red and Action Films

Oscar-winner Helen Mirren changes things up with a starring role in Red, an action-heavy comedy/drama based on a comic book series. Mirren isn't exactly known for her ability to kick butt in films (at least not physically), but with Red she taps into her inner action hero - and gets to shoot big guns.

At the 2010 San Diego Comic Con, Mirren - wearing a shirt commemorating the life of American Splendor writer Harvey Pekar - talked about why she decided to go Red and why this film might just earn her a whole new group of admirers:
