Zack Snyder on the Animated Owl Movie - Legend of the Guardians

Were you one of the millions of people captivated by a family of barn owls nesting in a box in San Marco, CA these past few months? Live streaming of the owls allowed viewers worldwide to spy on mom, Molly, and dad, McGee, as they took care of their four offspring from eggs through their 'teenage' period until they safely left the nesting box and struck out on their own. That shared experience of seeing these complex, beautiful creatures grow in front of their eyes made barn owl fans out hundreds of thousands of people. And now those owl appreciators, some of whom went through withdrawal once the baby owls learned to hunt and took off, have a feature film they can give a hoot about hitting theaters this September.

Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen) directs his first animated feature film, bringing the first few books of Kathryn Lasky's owl series to life on the screen as Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole. Lasky's fictional tale of a group of young barn owls who fight against evil owls is rendered in 3-D, with the animation done by the same company, AnimalLogic, who brought us Happy Feet. Read On...
