Breaking Dawn in 3-D? And What's Happening With Renesmee?

Producer Wyck Godfrey hit the black carpet at the LA premiere of Eclipse, the third film of the Twilight series, and he was definitely willing to chat up the final two films of the franchise: Breaking Dawn Parts 1 and 2. There's a lot Twilight fans want to know about how Summit Entertainment is going to handle the particulars of Stephenie Meyer's last book of the bestselling series, including how the studio and director Bill Condon will be bringing to life the new central character introduced in the final book.

Godfrey told me they're not actually sure how they're going to go about handling the Renesmee character. "My wife is six months pregnant and when she has her child we're going to use our daughter," joked Godfrey. "No, I don't know yet. That's the fun of making movies is trying to figure this stuff up. And I think that it's going to be some combination of real actors, CG, who knows?"

Godfrey also confirmed there has been talk of making at least one of the two Breaking Dawn movies 3-D. "We've talked about it. We've actually really explored doing the second movie in 3-D because Bella becomes a vampire, and seeing how the world is, so we're exploring it," confirmed Godfrey. "But I think none of us want to feel like we're chasing a gimmick, and I think there's a lot of people that feel like everyone's doing everything in 3-D. And the truth is, this movie's about intimacy, it's about the relationship between Edward and Bella and I'm not sure it needs it."

The first Breaking Dawn film hits theaters on November 18, 2011.
