Russell Crowe Died? Rumors Set the 'Net on Fire

Whoa, this came completely out of left field. A radio station reported Russell Crowe had fallen 50 feet to his death while filming a movie on a remote mountain in Kitzbühel, Austria this morning, and from there the rumor of Crowe's death just exploded all over the internet. "Russell Crowe dies" was a trending topic on Google (Google ranked its search hotness as 'Volcanic') and Twitter went bonkers with users spreading the 'news'. However, according to Crowe's rep, the 46 year old actor is in fact alive and well.

Crowe's rep told US Magazine the internet rumors are "not true."

Crowe's latest film, Robin Hood, opened with less than spectacular numbers domestically, but has done well internationally. The film marked his fifth project with director Ridley Scott and told an origin story about the archer who stole from the rich to give to the poor. Crowe will next be seen in The Next Three Days directed by Paul Haggis (Crash) and co-starring Liam Neeson (The A-Team) and Olivia Wilde. He's also got a starring role in a remake of A Star is Born in the works.
