Shiloh Fernandez may have just landed the role that'll provide him with his big break. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news Fernandez has landed the starring role in The Girl With the Red Riding Hood opposite Amanda Seyfried (Letters to Juliet, Dear John).Set up at Warner Bros, The Girl With the Red Riding is a gothic retelling of the classic Grimm fairy tale. Seyfried will play a young woman confronted by a werewolf; Fernandez will play an orphaned woodcutter who catches the eye of Seyfried, according to THR. This adaptation changes things up and places a teen love triangle at the center of the story.
Red Riding Hood has an estimated budget of $40 million and will be directed by Twilight helmer Catherine Hardwicke. Production is expected to begin this summer.
