Universal Pictures has tapped Clive Owen to star in the thriller Intruders directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) and written by Jaime Marques and Nico Casariego. Daniel Bruhl is also attached to the project which is eyeing a June start date in Madrid and London.The exact plot of Intruders hasn't been revealed, but what is known is that the story centers around an 11 year old girl who is, according to The Hollywood Reporter, "forced to confront childhood demons." Owens will be playing the girl's father. The part of the 11 year old girl hasn't yet been cast.
Clive Owen was most recently seen in the indie drama The Boys are Back and just wrapped up work on Trust (directed by Friends' David Schwimmer). In addition to Intruders, Owen is attached to the sequel to Spike Lee's Inside Man.
