Sam Worthington, Alexa Davalos, and Mads Mikkelsen on Clash of the Titans

Sam Worthington - Hollywood's current go-to action guy - stars as Perseus, the mortal son of the god Zeus (Liam Neeson), in 2010's 3D version of Clash of the Titans. The 1981 Clash of the Titans was a campy action film, but Warner Bros Pictures' and director Louis Leterrier weren't going for 'camp' with this new take on the story that's rooted in Greek mythology. Sure, the creatures from the '81 film put in appearances in 2010's Clash, but they're brought to life with state of the art CG technology and not stop-motion, as was the case with the original film.
