John Krasinski Joins Something Borrowed Cast

John Krasinski may or may not still be in the running for the lead in the Captain America movie (now Chris Evans and Garrett Hedlund seem to be the front-runners for that film, if the internet buzz can be believed), but he's definitely in the running for Something Borrowed. The Hollywood Reporter says Krasinski, best known for playing Jim on The Office, is close to signing on to the romantic comedy to be directed by Luke Greenfield (The Girl Next Door).

If the deal goes through, Krasinski would be playing one of Ginnifer Goodwin's best friends. THR reports Alcon Entertainment's looking to sign on the cast for two films, with Something Borrowed aiming to head into production in a couple of months. And if it makes significant box office bucks, Alcon has snatched up Something Blue, the second book in the series by Emily Giffin, and wants the cast back for that sequel.

Krasinski was last onscreen in It's Complicated starring Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin. Off-screen, Krasinski recently became engaged to Emily Blunt (The Wolfman).
