Morgan Freeman had the honor of presenting the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role (commonly referred to as 'Best Supporting Actress') award to Mo'Nique for her riveting performance in Precious. Accepting her award, Mo'Nique said, "Thank you to every member of the Screen Actors Guild. I'm so very honored. There are some people that I must thank that could easily go overlooked, but without these people this film could have not been what it is. I have to say thank you to Aunt Dot who played Mary Jones' mother. I have to say thank you to the Each One Teach One students. You all were absolutely amazing."

Mo'Nique also thanked her Precious director. "Lee Daniels, you never cease to amaze me. God got something on you, brother. that you can't begin to imagine the gift."
