Let's think positively about this. We've gotten the first disappointing romantic comedy of the year out of the way, and we're only one week into 2010. That's a good thing, right? Because, unfortunately, as charismatic and talented as Amy Adams and Matthew Goode are - and as good as their chemistry is onscreen in Leap Year - the two are unable to breathe much life into this tired story. Leap Year doesn't last for 366 days, but it sure feels longer than its 101 minute running time. Read On...

This show was ABSOLUTELY GREAT, very entertaining, and a good story line. Plus, my husband and I really liked the morality to the story. Maybe, the above critic doesn’t care for morals, but this story was fun AND dramatic at moments which tugged at our hearts. It was a very romantic movie. We loved it!! The critic who said this didn’t have much life breathed in it is nuts. It was oozing with life!! We watched in TWICE! Lots of chemistry, too. We highly recommend this movie, and in fact, it’s a breath of FRESH AIR.
This was a great movie! I loved the characters and the story line! My fiance even liked it! (which he is more about the action movies) This is such a cute movie for anyone to watch, it will make you fall in love again!
I completely agree with you. Its just sad to know that people don’t enjoy a movie unless there is something slimy in it. I enjoyed it soooo much that I bought the DVD!
Well usually I am quite easygoing about movies, I don’t really care as long as they are entertaining … and this one was ok… Amy Adams is always good. But WHY do they always do movies with Ireland as a location and use actors who are NOT Irish? There are plenty of good Irish actors! Matthew Goode is probably a good actor, but he did not sound Irish at all, and as I hear that accent every day (I’m not Irish by the way, my husband is) I couldn’t get past that, which is a shame, as the movie wasn’t TOO bad. They did the same thing with PS I love you – using a Scottish actor – why!???? Maybe Irish actors don’t want to play these parts because they always use all the stupid cliches from eons ago…. which young people in Ireland would never do/use/say etc…
Anyway I have had my rant – the second part of the movie was better than the first anyway. Thank goodness for Amy Adams saving this movie.
Was greatly surprised as I watched it on cable last evening as just how much I really loved and enjoyed this movie. I’m now looking to buy the DVD and give them as stocking stuffers to my daughter and daughter-in-law. We’ll all three hopeless romantics.
I thought this movie was great!! I saw it in the theater when it first came out and was so tickled with it, I insisted my husband go with me again to watch it. I then bought the video and watched it a couple of times. It has been on cable and we just watch it again and again. It makes you feel good. Both Amy Adams and Matthew Goode are great together. Matthew Goode was great with the one liners and the expressions on his face that went with those one liners. The scenery was wonderful and since my ancestors come from Derry and Galway, it meant so much more to me to see their homeland and remember their accents. All in all, I think this was a great movie and one that I wasn’t ashamed to have my grandchildren watch with us.
Leap Year is a most enjoyable movie.
Matthew Goode is a fine actor, strong character,
and very handsome. Amy Adams’s character is
adorable and charming, very entertaining.
And talk about romantic–it is the most fun
romantic comedy I have seen in years.
The directing is great and the scenery around
Ireland is beautiful. I would give this movie
the highest rating possible and should be given
many awards.
i dont know if this movie is nice…
