Wild Hogs Won't Ride Again - Disney Stops Wild Hogs 2

Bad news comes in threes, but I'm not totally convinced the latest cancellation on Disney's theatrical release schedule is actually bad news. It all depends on your fondness for John Travolta, William H Macy, Tim Allen and Martin Lawrence in leather on hogs. If you're a fan of Wild Hogs, then news that Disney's put an end to Wild Hogs 2: Bachelor Ride might dampen your holiday spirit a wee bit.

Disney has in fact decided to put the hogs out to pasture, at least for now. The cancellation of Wild Hogs 2 comes on the heels of news that Disney honcho Rich Ross has also opted not to move forward on the Robin Williams/Anna Faris comedy Wedding Banned. Williams and Wild Hogs star Travolta starred in Disney's Old Dogs, which hit theaters on November 25th to a less than enthusiastic response. Critics didn't like it and audiences didn't buy into Old Dogs the way the studio had anticipated.

Disney also recently announced they'd decided to halt work on 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Captain Nemo. McG (Terminator Salvation) was onboard to direct the action film and had been gearing up to start production this coming February.

I disagree with your inferred asumption that Wild Hogs 2 should be “Lumped in” with Disney’s other recent failures at the Box Office.
Very few times, does a movie come along that was obviously fun to produce for the crew & actors, fun for the audience (box office sales were not reflective of the overall popularity of this movie), and although it wasn’t a blockbuster it did produce a nice profit for Disney. (All Disney’s movies should be so lucky)
The cancellation of Wild Hogs 2 was an ill considered decision, that has disappointed many fans of the first Wild Hogs movie, and we fans can only shake our heads at Rich Ross’s poor leadership of Disney studios at this time.
Wild Hogs was one of the only movies that middle aged males could relate to nowadays.
Tired of the Current trend of CGI “computer game” like productions, geared to younger audiences, and the ever present “Strong Woman” feminist offerings, constantly being shoved at Aundiences in both theaters and television.
Wild Hogs appeals to the Older male audience, that quite frankly could “Use a break” from the ever present “Beatdown” that the Middle aged male must endure from all sides, yet still get up every morning, and go to work and try to keep this Big World moving.

My Husband & I have been waiting & waiting for wild hogs 2 for quite some time now- I cant believe this has been cancelled. Its not just middle aged men- there is alot of middle aged woman who loved wild hogs. My mother is 75 years old & she still wants to watch it everytime she comes to our house so we finally bought it for her. This is a bummer. I am all for the disney movies for the kiddies- I have grandkids- but Geez- when do us middle aged people get some laughter like wild hogs. I laugh so hard every time I watch it. Shame on you for pulling the plug on it & what 4 wonderful actors you had. This is so very very sad!!!!!!

Very sad news….
Wild Hogs was the best disney movie of the last couple of years…..
we are all wait for a sequel….
It’s not easy found a great cast with 4 amazing actors you had in wild hogs…
And about “old dogs”….. well 84,7 milions worldwide with a budget of 35 is a great deal….
If you add 5-7 milions from the upcoming release in countries with big markets ( in Italy the movie will hit the theatre on march 26) and maybe 25-30 milions from dvd/bluray markets you will easly cross the 100 milions mark worldwide.

I can’t believe that we will not get the pleasure of seeing Wild Hogs 2. Our “riding” friends have never laughed so hard as when we watched this movie. We actually planned a trip and called ourselves Wild Hogs 2. Leave it to someone to pull the plug on a great, fun filled movie that was geared to us “old folks”. Hopefully they will change their minds and we’ll see it in the near future.

MAN! I am very sad that Disney pulled the plug on this. I was looking forward to this movie big time. Sigh. Wild Hogs is one of my favorites (not to mention several people I know).

Please reconsider!

Although, it did not have big numbers at the box office, this movie has a large cult following, and a sequel would do much better at the box office, and later in rentals, it’s too bad the powers that be do not see things the same way, truly a funny movie that is one of my favs……….i truly hope they reconsider….
