Disney's Celebrating Christmas A Few Months Early

Tuesday May 12, 2009
Disney's taking its act on the road - actually the rail - with "Disney's A Christmas Carol Train Tour," kicking off May 22nd in Los Angeles. Four custom-designed vintage rail cars loaded down with A Christmas Carol-themed items and activities will head out on a 40 city tour passing through 36 states. According to Walt Disney Studios, by the time the tour ends at New York's Grand Central Station on November 1st, the train will have traveled 16,000 miles.

Visitors to "Disney's A Christmas Carol Train Tour" will get a 3-D sneak peek at the performance capture film directed by Robert Zemeckis and featuring Jim Carrey in seven different roles. In each city visited, a 48-foot-wide, 2-story 3-D theater will be set up to screen scenes from the movie. Train Tour visitors will also get to see artifacts on loan from the Charles Dickens Museum, play games, check out costumes and props from A Christmas Carol, and learn about the technology behind the performance capture film.

The exhibit is free and open to the general public. A complete list of cities hosting "Disney's A Christmas Carol Train Tour" can be found at Disney.com/christmascaroltraintour.
