Clash of the Titans Begins Filming

Warner Bros Pictures announced they'll start shooting Clash of the Titans outside of London on April 27. The action-adventure epic will be directed by Louis Leterrier (The Incredible Hulk) and is based on the 1981 campy classic epic that starred Harry Hamlin as the mortal son of Zeus. I dare you to watch that one now and not laugh out loud at the special effects. This new Clash of the Titans is sure to feature much better visual effects, with Warner Bros bringing on visual effects supervisor Nick Davis (The Dark Knight), prosthetics supervisor Conor O'Sullivan (also from The Dark Knight), and special effects & animatronics supervisor Neil Corbould (Defiance, Blood Diamond) to handle the difficult job of making Clash of the Titans look fabulous.

Terminator Salvation's Sam Worthington plays Perseus (Hamlin's role), Liam Neeson is Zeus, Ralph Fiennes is Hades, and Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace) will play Io, spiritual guide to Perseus. Another Bond veteran, Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale) is Draco, Jason Flemyng plays Acrisius (a king who has been turned into a hideous beast), and Alexa Davalos (who also has a Bond connection having starred opposite Daniel Craig in Defiance) rounds out the main cast as the doomed Princess Andromeda.

The Official Clash of the Titans Synopsis
In Clash of the Titans, the ultimate struggle for power pits men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world. Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Neeson) and unleash hell on earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.
